Connie Sweet creates distinctive brands that connect with her client’s philosophy and business strategy. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising Design from Kendall College of Art and Design in 1987 she acquired positions in the graphic design and publishing industry. This work experience as a staff member of ad agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, publishing houses, and governmental offices in the Grand Rapids and Lansing Michigan market offered a strong base of knowledge on which she has built a successful design studio. As founder of Connection Graphics, LLC, Connie Sweet has filled each position of its organizational chart at one time or another! One moment web site and print graphic designer, the next director of marketing, then accounts receivable, to regional sales manager. Connie wears each hat with style and ease and with every role knowledge increases and her client base expands.
Presently, Connie works closely with authors, publishers, business owners, associations and marketing managers to develop brands that present a professional impression in every media. Her graphic designs and publication work has gained recognition and she is a recipient of many Gallery of Printing Awards, including an International Gold Award. Connie’s commitment to staying current with business trends and the call from her customers for Connection Graphics to offer more e-marketing and e-business services has driven her back to school to attain an associates degree in E-Business though Lansing Community College.
While continuing her entrepreneurial endeavor and her studies in E-Business standards and practices Connie Sweet also devotes energy to community projects. In 2009, Connie Sweet co-founded WISE, Women in Successful Enterprises, with Floriza Genautis. WISE is a non profit resource for women entrepreneurs in the second stage of business and currently serves the Greater Grand Rapids and Lansing areas. Locally, Connie serves as Communications Chair of the Generosity Pillar of CanDo! Charlotte and continues to offer her company assistance to Woldumar Nature Center after over a decade of volunteer design and marketing services. To further share her leadership skills and respect for entrepreneurs Connie served as a Board member for AWE – Alliance of Women in Business from 2006 through 2008 and from 1998 to 2004 Connie served as a board member and Marketing chair of the Lansing Micro Enterprise Fund, now the Entrepreneur Institute of Mid-Michigan. In all of these positions Connie’s communication skills and expertise in graphic design and brand marketing has helped each organization excel. As growth and knowledge moves her through each life and career transition, Connie Sweet dedicates herself to helping individuals and organizations achieve success and stay connected to the people and places that matter.
