Dance on the Street!


Inforum is proud to be a sponsor of a Detroit street festival that promises to be one of the most talked-about events of the summer. On Aug. 14, the world-famous Heidelberg Project presents Dancin' on the Street, a free, family-friendly celebration of Detroit's diversity in music and dance. The event will feature all kinds of music: Motown, jazz, classical, hip-hop, techno, rhythm & bues and anything else that represents the rich sound of our diverse culture. Main stage performers will include a Detroit Symphony Orchestra quartet, the Sun Messengers, Compas, Nadir and Market Flash. The festival also will include street performers, children's activities a variety of food vendors and more. We think this will be a great opportunity for Inforum members to mingle and have fun, while supporting one of Detroit's most important arts organizations. Hope to see you all there! Parking: Half-price parking for festival-goers is provided by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, available at the Max M. Fisher Music Center with shuttle service to and from the event. GROW Start Smart


Start Smart - 2-part course Part 1 will take place on Tuesday, August 31. Part 2 will take place on Thursday, September 2. Both sessions are from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. A two-part course that focuses on business readiness. You must pay for both sessions at once. Part 1 is a pre-requisite to Part 2, but they can be taken in different months. Contact Nicole at GROW if you'd like to take Part 2 in a different month. 616.458.3404. Start Smart 1 helps participants understand what it takes to run their own business and will identify personal attributes, obstacles, and support systems that help/hinder them as they start their own business. Start Smart II helps the participant determine profit margins, start-up costs, monthly expenses, and how to apply it to their business idea.
