Banking: Marci Chapin – Comerica
Marci L. Chapin, Vice President, Private Banking. A graduate of Michigan State University, Marci joined Comerica Bank in 1987. After two years as a commercial Credit Analyst, she spent 10 years in Middle Market banking as a commercial lender in Grand Rapids. From 1999-2011 she was co-manager of the Comerica Bank Plainfield office, with the primary responsibility for business development in both the retail and commercial areas. In 2012 Marci joined Private Banking, focusing on customized lending solutions for high net worth individuals and professionals. She lives in Rockford, MI with her husband, Todd, and her 3 daughters, Katie, Holly and Melissa. They enjoy boating, attending musical events, and following both Rockford and MSU athletics.
Legal: Katie Roskam – Varnum, LLPs
Katie Roskam is a member of Varnum LLP’s tax and employee benefits practice teams and focuses on federal income tax matters for both foreign and domestic clients and issues pertaining to employee benefits and executive compensation. Katie earned her LLM in taxation from Northwestern University School of Law and her JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is a council member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Taxation Section and recently finished tenures as the young lawyers section liaison and editor of the Michigan Tax Lawyer, the section’s quarterly taxation publication.
Insurance: Deanna Fridley BS, CIC, CPIA – Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company
Deanna Fridley has been in the commercial property and casualty insurance industry for over 20 years. She is a certified insurance counselor and a certified professional insurance agent. She has a business degree from Oakland University. Her focus is educating and making sure her members understand their insurance for their business. Providing just the right commercial coverage needed to help a business recover from a disaster and litigation with the least amount of financial loss. Deanna has been a WISE advocate since the inception of the organization. She also volunteers on the private duty committee for the Michigan Home and Hospice Association. You will also find Deanna at many sporting events watching her 13-year-old son.
Facilitator: Shannan Denison – Financial Advisor at Shannan Denison, CRPC
Shannan Denison is a comprehensive, independent, fee-based financial advisor with Denison Financial since 2001. Shannan has a degree in psychology from GVSU where she volunteers on the Alumni Board and serves as an Alumni Champion. As a business owner and mother of 3 teenagers Shannan strives to achieve work life balance. Shannan has won awards for Innovation, Alliance of the Year from the Alliance of Women Entrepreneurs and Outstanding Supervisor from GVSU Internship program. Shannan enjoys yoga, music, and art (it’s all art). She also serves as current chair of the West Michigan Jazz Society.
