You only need to register one time for the cluster. One registration pays for all three classes in the Marketing GPS series. Please register under the first class in this cluster.

Small Business Growth and Planning Series (Small Business GPS) is designed to provide participants with the information and resources to write or refine their business plan.

1) Strategic Planning, August 6

Expand your blueprint for your business by identifying the values of your organization and creating a mission and vision statement. Learn how to set goals and position your business for success.

Time: 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Facilitator: Julie Otte

Julie Otte is a Emotional Release Therapist, Holistic Counselor and Brain Health Coach in private practice in Grand Rapids, MI. She helps individuals of all ages overcome the negative effects that stressful or traumatic life experiences have an effect on how a person thinks, feels and behaves. She specializes in upsetting events, trauma recovery, relational trauma, children of narcissistic parents, and self-esteem matters and brain health.

Julie’s coaching experience includes work at Grand Rapids Community College, where she coached employees on how to navigate all aspects of work/life balance as well as career transitions. Her career coaching services include: gaining clarity on career interests, interviewing skills, networking skills, relationship building, organizational and business growth.

Julie earned a Master of Arts in Health Promotion from the University of Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science in Community Development – Health Sciences. She holds certifications in brain health coaching, holistic counseling, EPTWorks (emotional release therapy), grief and bereavement counseling, expert mindfulness practitioner, health coaching and personal training.

As a seeker of learning, she attends many continuing education workshops each year and reads books along with professional journals related to mental health, therapy, nutrition and overall wellness. She has also developed and presented professional development and learning experiences and hosted speaking engagements for groups of varying professionals.

2) Legal Rules Every Business Needs to Understand, August 13

This session is designed for every business owner, whether or not you have already created an LLC or corporation. The session focuses on legal basics that are often misunderstood when starting and operating a business.

Facilitator: Jeff Ammon

Jeff Ammon has practiced law with Miller Johnson since 1978. The University of Michigan gave Mr. Ammon his law degree, magna cum laude, in 1978 and his undergraduate degree in 1975. He is licensed in Michigan. In 2019, he was named as Best Lawyers Grand Rapids Lawyer of the Year for Construction Law. He has personally constructed sheds, a tree-house, and a 240-foot zip line, all without injuries, litigation, or construction liens. When he is not biking with his wife, you can find him in his woodworking shop.

3) Successful Relationship Building, August 20

Your business success depends largely on relationship building, but that requires intentionality, time, and confidence. Learn how to develop a relationship-building plan that will increase your network, your confidence, and your audience.
